Veteran Tyler Grant is back for another run with the San Francisco Dogfish, agreeing to a one-year contract.
Grant is a 10-year stalwart of the Bay Area Ultimate community. Grant played collegiate Ultimate at Princeton and arrived in San Francisco in 2004. He won club National Championships with Mischief (Mixed 2006), Revolver (Open 2010) and Blackbird (Mixed 2011, 2012).
Grant is a big physical presence on the field and takes pride in being able to out-work opponents. He never takes a point off and has had to be reminded that in the MLU teams are not allowed to play through halftime. Additionally, Tyler’s ample experience and intelligence often put him in the position to make big plays.
Grant nursed a knee injury through last year’s club series, but appears to be rounding into form in time for the MLU season.
The San Francisco Dogfish look forward to a great 2014 season. The team expects to defend its Western Conference Title and get back to the MLU Championship this summer.
