Heading into the 2016 MLU Season, the San Francisco Dogfish saw a lot of roster turnover. With 16 rookies making the roster, new Head Coach Jason Seidler had a lot of young talent getting their first taste of professional ultimate as the team hosted another young team, the Vancouver Nighthawks on a rainy Opening Day.

While both teams showed flashes of talent, it was the home team that really shined in San Francisco. Lead by veterans Gabe Saunkeah, James Sheridan and Thomas Pineda, as well as rookies Nate Young and Daniel Naruo, the Dogfish dominated the day, especially after halftime as they outscored the Nighthawks 15-7 in the 2nd half.
