The San Francisco Dogfish (1-0) hit the road to meet the Portland Stags (3-0) on their home turf.

The San Francisco Dogfish and the Portland Stags head into battle this Saturday, April 23 at Milwaukie High School in Oregon, as both teams seek to maintain their perfect records.

Who will leave this battle royale with a perfect, unbeaten record? To quote an intense battle expert Connor MacLeod, “there can be only one.”

The Dogfish (1-0) are on the road after taking a week off, giving them fresh legs and an energetic start following a strong win over the Vancouver Nighthawks at their home opener. The second half proved this team has some seriously tasty offensive flow, with Gabe Saunkeah and Nate Young leading the team with 3 goals a piece. The rest of the squad wasn’t far behind with most Dogfish sharing a few goals each, showing that the team knows how to swim together quite nicely on offense and no defense is safe.

On the defensive side, the Stags won’t have it any easier. In the opener against Vancouver, James Sheridan found himself saying, “Not in my house” with 4 blocks, and Thomas Pineda added a ridiculous 6 blocks to his resume. With one more block, Pineda would be tied for the league lead with Marques Brownlee of the New York Rumble and Raphy Hayes of the Stags. Both Brownlee and Hayes have played multiple games, while Pineda has just played the one. Thomas Pineda angry, Thomas Pineda smash.

While the Dogfish are off to a great start, the Stags (3-0) are also approaching this game with some good momentum as well. The team already has three wins under their belt thanks to a double header last weekend, which didn’t hinder the Stags ability to battle through and obtain victories over both the Seattle Rainmakers and the Nighthawks. In Week 3, the League Leaderboard has also familiarized itself with the Stags roster- 4 of the 5 top scorers in the entire league are repping for the Stags – Cody Bjorklund, Hayes, Ben McGinn and Peter Woodside.

Both teams have already proven their ability to successfully work as a cohesive unit, meaning one team will need to go beast mode and step up big.

The 2016 Dogfish open their road schedule at Milwaukie High School Turf Field, in Milwaukie, Oregon – April 23 at 5pm.
