By the third quarter of last week’s game against the Portland Stags, it looked like the San Francisco Dogfish would achieve the upset win. One of the highlight plays in that quarter earned James Yeager the Innova Pulsar Throw of the Week award.

Following a great but unsuccessful layout bid by the Stags, Yeager ran to the disc and was quickly consumed by the defense. But it didn’t stop him from unleashing a hammer within a triple-team crowd of Stags.

“I had a wide open guy streaking to the end zone – his guy had fallen to the ground, so I knew we had an opportunity for an easy score,” said Yeager. “My first look was a high-release forehand because we were going downwind and I just wanted to float the disc in the end zone for Ian [Ranahan] to get. To be completely honest, I didn’t think about the defenders marking me, I was barely cognizant of the third guy. As soon as I released it, I knew it was golden.”

The Dogfish are on the road this weekend for another double header against the Stags and Rainmakers, but check them out on MLU Live tomorrow beginning at 3 p.m.
