San Francisco announced that they have signed James Pollard for the 2015 season.

Pollard will return as a cutter on the offensive line, where he has played since the team’s start in 2013.

“I’m excited to be returning for my third season with Dogfish and getting to play in Berkeley, where I developed as a player for four years in college,” said Pollard.

In his first season with the Dogfish, Pollard was in the lower third of the pack for points with five assists. Last season he moved to the top third for overall points (14), and fifth on the team for assists (9).

“James Pollard is constantly evolving and improving as a player,” said Dogfish Assistant Coach Matt Ruby. “In his third year of pro ultimate, he will be a steadying and dynamic presence on our O-lines.”

Pollard proved his grace under pressure with a 92 percent completion rate in the 2013 MLU Championship game against the Boston Whitecaps. However, significant roster turnover took the Dogfish from top of the Western Conference in 2013 to the bottom of the conference in 2014.

“I can’t wait to take this season by storm with a team full of reliable returning players and exciting new energy,” said Pollard. “We have a lot to prove coming off of last season.”

Dogfish is fortunate to keep in its ranks auch a brilliant, skilled, highly competitive and quite handsome player as James Pollard. I’m confident he can help pull Dogfish back to the top ranks of the league this year. We will be keeping a keen eye on the metoric rise of his Ultimate career this season.
Best wishes to James and all the Dogfish team!
