On Sunday the San Francisco Dogfish met at one of last season’s practice fields in Berkeley. But this time the Ultimate players being put through the paces were all 18 and under.

The Dogfish partnered with the Bay Area Disc Association (BADA) to provide a clinic for Bay Area youth. BADA runs a winter league on Sundays to give young players a regular opportunity to develop new disc skills or enhance their existing skills.

Working within the league’s existing structure, the Dogfish coached nearly 30 boys and girls ages 8 to 13 from 2-4 pm, and nearly 20 boys and girls ages 14 to 18 from 4-6 pm.

Both groups were guided through a dynamic warm-up, partner throwing, drills and scrimmaging. Dogfish staff and players provided strategic hints and individual tips to players to help them make the most of their Ultimate experience.
