San Francisco announced the re-signing of Adam Farren to the 2014 Dogfish roster.
Adam Farren is an experienced player with size and a good motor. A dependable defensive workhorse, Farren played cup in the zone defenses that keyed second-half comebacks against a couple of teams last season. The D-team’s most notable stand was in a mid-season game against the Seattle Rainmakers, where the team fought back from 8-3 at half to win and grab control of the Western Conference standings.
“Adam Farren is the quintessential 7th man,” says Dogfish Head Coach Justin Safdie. “This is a hugely under appreciated position and Adam deserves accolades for his ability to excel at this spot.”
Farren played collegiate Ultimate at Princeton University, and played the previous club season with San Francisco Blackbird, USA Ultimate’s Mixed National Champions in 2012. He was recently elected president of the Bay Area Disc Association, a volunteer organization that is the primary sponsor of youth, club and adult recreational Ultimate around the San Francisco Bay area.
Farren and other returning teammates will be attending team open tryouts this weekend. The Dogfish look forward to building upon last year’s success, and hope to bring home a second Western Conference Title and get back to the MLU Championship.
